Composition
This packing is manufactured using high quality ramie fibre yarns which are individuallly lubricated and
impregnated with PTFE and lubricated during the braiding process.
The finished braid is given a final, external treatment with PTFE to give a packing with a low coefficient of
friction, which has high flexibility and is suitable for use in moderate working conditions.
This packing is recommended for hydraulic service, both of seawater or fresh water.It is specially
designed form stern tube packing and rudder post.
Ramie is stronger than flax, cotton and hemp, it has got high abrasion and extrusion resistance and low
friction factor.
It is suitable for water applications, sea water, slurries and with abrasive particules water
